Campania Classic Tour - Group Package                                            

A sightseeing and cultural tour along and around Amalfi Coast (8 days-7 nights)

Day 1:

Departure from … at … (hr). Arrival in…............... Check in at the reserved hotel. Welcome cocktail. Dinner in a traditional restaurant and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2:

Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Maiori, a picturesque town renowned for its impressive Gardens of Palazzo Mezzacapo and its Collegiate Church dedicated to S. Maria a Mare. The church crypt houses a newly built two-floored Art Museum spreading over a 162-sq.m. surface, with an interesting collection witnessing the history of its building from the 12th to the 18th century. It also boasts amazing panoramic gardens.  After the visit, free time for shopping and enjoying the town’s charming tree-lined sea promenade. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon we’ll reach Ravello and visit its historical Villa Rufolo and its Cathedral dedicated to S. Pantaleone. Return to the hotel, dinner in a typical restaurant and overnight stay.

Day 3:

Breakfast at the hotel and departure by local ferry boat to the island of Capri. Upon arrival, bus tour around the island followed by a guided tour of Axel Munthe’s Villa S. Michele in Anacapri. Lunch in a local restaurant, followed by an afternoon trip to the so-called Augustus’ Gardens to enjoy a spectacular view over the world-famous Faraglioni.  Free time to stroll along Capri’s characteristic little streets. Return to the hotel. Dinner in a traditional restaurant and overnight stay.

Day 4:

Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Pompei to visit its world-known Excavation Site and Sanctuary of Madonna del Rosario. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we’ll drive up to the top of Vesuvius, reaching approximately 1000 meters above sea level, to then take a scenic walk to its spectacular volcanic crater. Return to the bus and departure to Torre del Greco, for a short visit to a coral and Cameo factory. Return to the hotel. Dinner in a typical restaurant. Live piano entertainment and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5:

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Positano, a picturesque little town known all over the world for its fashion and its original landscape of houses built “on a vertical axis”. Lunch in a traditional restaurant in Praiano and  afternoon drive to Conca dei Marini to visit its amazing Grotta dello Smeraldo (Emerald Grotto) with its original underwater Nativity. We’ll continue our drive to reach Amalfi, whose St. Andrew’s Cathedral is definitely worth a visit, together with the town’s Museum and its so-called Chiostro del Paradiso (Cloister of Paradise).  Return to the hotel. Dinner in a typical restaurant enjoying local fish soup. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6:

Breakfast at the hotel and departure to  Salerno to visit the town’s 11th cent. Romanesque Duomo, dedicated to St. Matthew the Evangelist, and the nearby Art Museum housing, among many other interesting artefacts, a remarkable ivory collection. We’ll continue driving southwards to the river Sele plain. After having lunch in a local restaurant, we’ll visit the Greek archaeological site of Paestum, including the ancient Basilica, the small Temple of Ceres, the wonderful Temple of Neptune or Poseidonion, and the site complementary Museum housing a number of ancient masterpieces, including the well-known “Tomb of the Diver”. Return to the hotel. Dinner in a traditional restaurant. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7:

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for a drive along Amalfi Coast’s breathtaking cliff-side road to reach and visit Sorrento, renowned for the myth of its Mermaids, legendary depicted in Homer’s Odyssey, as well as for its production of lace and wood intarsia. Free time to enjoy a stroll along Sorrento’s suggestive little streets, or a visit to the local Museo Correale di Terranova. After lunch, sightseeing tour of Naples, stopping at Piazza del Plebiscito, the well-known town square housing the town’s Palazzo Reale (Royal Palace), via Caracciolo, Mergellina’s harbour and Posillipo’s hill belvedere to admire its amazing views over the bay and Mount Vesuvius. Return to the hotel. Traditional farewell dinner and Neapolitan  guitar and mandolin romantic concert. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8: Breakfast and check out at the hotel. Departure and… “arrivederci”!!!
